Lando Norris ensured to hold off his McLaren team-mate and a compelling title contender, Oscar Piastri, in a pulsating final to clinch a sensational Hungarian Grand Prix victory on Sunday.
Australian racer Oscar Piastri clinched his maiden Formula One win, with his McLaren teammate Lando Norris coming in second place in the Hungarian Grand Prix at Hungaroring on Sunday.
Charles Leclerc labelled his P7 finish at the Hungarian Grand Prix “a shame” as he and Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz who wound up in P8 called on their team to find solutions in a bid to close the gap to Red Bull, McLaren and Mercedes.
In the Hungarian Grand Prix race on Sunday, McLaren driver Oscar Piastri finished in the fifth position, whilst he failed to defend his position against Sergio Perez who concluded the race in the third position.
Russell lined up 18th because he ran his final qualifying run late and lost the race for track position to teammate Lewis Hamilton, who went on to take the pole.
With the victory the reigning double world champion clinched his seventh straight victory and the Red Bull their 12th in a row – beating McLaren’s long-standing record.
Formula 1 announced on Sunday that the Hungarian Grand Prix will remain on the calendar for an additional five years until 2032, extending the existing deal that ran until 2027 as per the Formula 1 website.
