A huge cache of weapons was recovered from the general area along the Miao-Vijaynagar axis in Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh following a "well-coordinated" joint operation by security forces in the region, a press release said.
In a significant operation, the police team of South Salmara Mankachar district of Assam recovered and seized a huge cache of explosives including 760 numbers of sticks, and 525 detonators. Police have also arrested one person, said a release on Monday.
According to an official release, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police, and other security forces have been relentlessly carrying out intelligence-based joint operations in both the hill and valley regions in Manipur.
In a series of coordinated efforts, troops of Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police and other security forces deployed in Manipur successfully recovered 18 weapons, ammunition, and warlike stores, said a press release from the Indian Army.
Assam police have successfully intercepted a group of 20 youths who had been trying to form a new militant group and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Kokrajhar-Chirang forests.
In a joint operation with the Indian Army, Assam Rifles recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the Kakching district of Manipur on Wednesday.
"After an intensive search operation, two AK-47 rifles, one Sniper rifle, one 9mm Pistol, three Grenades and other war-like stores were recovered. The recovered items have been handed over to the Manipur Police for further investigation and disposal," it added.
In a joint operation launched by Indian Army and Manipur Police on July 17, a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered during search operations conducted in Imphal East district, a Spokesperson from the Ministry of Defence said.
