Indian shuttler HS Prannoy defeated Indonesian player Chico Aura DWI Wardoyo to move into the next round of the BWF World Championships in 2023 on Tuesday at Copenhagen in Denmark.
In the first set, Prannoy was leading the scoreline but in the middle of the game, Christian Adinata suffered an injury due to which Indian Shuttler entered the final of the tournament first time in his career.
Prannoy defeated Taiwanese badminton player Chou Tien Chen 16-21, 21-14, 21-13 in the Men's single. He lost his first set but made an impressive comeback and cliched two straight sets. On the other, Malvika lost to China's Wang Zhi Yi by 11-21, 13-21 in women's single.
Prannoy had to toil hard to register a win against the much lower-ranked opponent 21-16, 16-21, 21-16. China's Lu Guang Zu will be the next hurdle in the Indian shuttler's way.
