Nasry Asfura, a conservative candidate, has won the presidential elections in Honduras, the country's election council said, as reported by Al Jazeera.
The move applies to immigrants from Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, and Honduras, and their immediate family members, the Department of Homeland Security said on Friday (local time).
Nearly 6.5 million Hondurans will elect their new president amid concerns over voter fraud and threats of "aid cut" by US president Donald Trump if his preferred candidate (Asfura) loses.

Honduran Foreign Minister Eduardo Enrique Reina Garcia paid an official visit to India from May 15-18, 2025. He met with EAM S. Jaishankar to review bilateral ties and jointly inaugurated the Embassy of Honduras in New Delhi, marking a new chapter in India-Honduras relations.
Jaishankar said that India is now engaged in installing an early warning system which is developed by C-DOT which is aimed at strengthening Honduras's preparedness for disaster resilience.

He said that the Indian government is willing to discuss the Kashmir issue with Pakistan, specifically regarding the vacation of illegally occupied Indian territory.
Jaishankar while talking to reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Embassy of Honduras said that any trade deal has to be mutually beneficial and must work for both the countries.
