A large number of Kanwariyas have reached Haridwar as the Kanwar Yatra enters its final stage. The city is packed as devotees gather to collect holy Ganga water for offering to Lord Shiva. Officials expect the total number of pilgrims to cross 3 crore by the end of the day.
Devotees taking part in the 'Kanwar Yatra' head towards their respective destinations after taking Ganga Jal (the holy Ganga water) from Haridwar, Uttarakhand.
The yatra, which runs from February 15 to February 26, culminates on Maha Shivratri, when devotees, known as Kanwariyas, travel to fetch holy Ganga water from Har Ki Pauri. The water is then taken back to their local Lord Shiva temples, where it is used for anointing Lord Shiva during the
