The Central Government, through the Ministry of Law and Justice, has approved the appointment of advocates Amitabh Kumar Rai and Rajiv Lochan Shukla as Judges of the Allahabad High Court.
Three newly appointed judges-- Shail Jain, Madhu Jain, and Vinod Kumar were formally sworn in at the Delhi High Court on Thursday, raising the court's working strength to 43 judges, against a sanctioned total of 60.
Justice NV Anjaria, Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court; Justice Vijay Bishnoi, Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court; and Justice AS Chandurkar of Bombay High Court have been recommended for elevation to the Supreme Court.
