The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday arrested a key Khalistani operative Kashmir Singh Galwaddi associated with foreign-based Babbar Khalsa terrorists Harwinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda and one of the hardened criminals who had escaped during the Nabha jail break in 2016.
This is the first time the NIA had proactively sought the properties of terrorists to be ‘forfeited to the State’ under section 26 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention)Act after being attached as proceeds of terrorism," the NIA said in a statement.
The three are Harwinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda of BKI, Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dala of KTF and Lakhbir Singh Sandhu alias Landa of BKI, (all based abroad), for creating their own networks of operatives to carry out terror activities in India.
Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) under the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah took the decision reinforcing the commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen national security and combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
