Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday launched the distribution of seed capital cheques under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan for women beneficiaries of Hailakandi and Dholai Legislative Assembly Constituencies (LACs) in the Barak Valley.
The arrested individuals are from various districts in Assam, including Darrang, Goalpara, Nalbari, Chirang, Kamrup, Bongaigaon, Hailakandi, Lakhimpur, Barpeta, Hojai, South Salmara, Bajali, and Dhubri.
"In connection with the offensive social-media posts following the Delhi blasts, 15 persons have been arrested across Assam so far. In addition to the 6 arrests made yesterday, overnight we have arrested the following persons also: Rafijul Ali (Bongaigaon), Forid Uddin Laskar (Hailakandi)

Assam Housing and Urban Affairs Minister (DoHUA) Jayanta Mallabaruah said that the flood situation in Assam was under control and the state government was prepared to face any challenge.
"Assam already witnessing intense rain in Silchar (42 cm), Karimganj (35 cm), Hailakandi (30 cm) and in nearby areas. People in low-lying and riverbank areas are advised to stay alert and follow local advisories. Stay safe, stay prepared," CM Sarma posted on X.
In view of the ensuing flood and rainy season in the State, Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on Thursday directed all the landslide prone districts of the State to pre identify the safe shelters (relief camps) for the people vulnerable to landslide during flood season.
The first phase of panchayat elections in Assam was conducted on Friday in 14 districts of the state. The 14 districts include Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat, Majuli, Golaghat, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Biswanath, Sonitpur, Cachar, Hailakandi and Sribhumi.
