The sisters of former Pakistani Prime Minister and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, on Wednesday strongly criticised the party's leadership for what they described as "complete silence" and lack of action regarding Khan's ongoing legal cases.
PTI withdrew its notification forming a parliamentary board for Islamabad local elections after admitting it violated the party constitution. The decision followed objections from the regional president. PTI candidates have filed nominations and will contest the polls under the Sunni Ittehad
The TTAP held an important parliamentary party meeting chaired by Mahmood Khan Achakzai. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Asad Qaiser and several MNAs attended.
As per the notification issued by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, PTI has terminated the basic membership of MNAs Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Zahoor Hussain Qureshi, Muhammad Ilyas Chaudhry, Mubarak Zeb and Usman Ali.
PTI's statement comes after the Constitutional Bench of the top court accepted review petitions and decided that the Imran Khan-founded party was not eligible for seats reserved for women and minorities in the national and provincial assemblies.
Gohar Ali Khan announced that the PTI will collaborate with opposition parties to start a movement led by a "pattern-in-chief" from prison. He urged opposition parties to join the PTI for the sake of Pakistan's survival and security.

He mentioned that the option of initiating a no-confidence motion is constitutionally available to all political parties. However, he noted that the Imran Khan-founded party has not considered using it at this time.
During the hearing, 29 PTI workers appeared before the court while four others registered applications requesting exemption from attendance. The court adjourned the hearing till July 17, when the accused are expected to be formally indicted.
Pakistan Minister Attaullah Tarar said that PTI founder Imran Khan was permitted to meet people several times a week, and he is the only political leader who has been given this kind of leniency.
He dismissed recent claims made by PTI Senator Azam Swati, who had suggested that Khan had allowed him to hold back-channel talks to stabilise the political situation of Pakistan.
