According to Scoop, the G20 Tourism Working Group meeting from May 22 - 24 in Srinagar came at a critical time when the Valley of Kashmir has been making persistent efforts to bounce back on the map of international tourism as an abode for domestic and international travellers.
The KU, the highest seat of learning in Kashmir, is among the 15 institutions in the country that were chosen to represent the nation and host Y20 events during India's Presidency of the G20 in the current year, according to a report.
As the G20 meeting in Kashmir approaches this month, increased hue and cry against India from neighbouring Pakistan has plunged to new levels. This is backed by several terror attacks in Poonch, Rajouri.
"G20 meetings are being organized in entire India, in all cities and parts of India. It is therefore natural to hold the meetings in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh because these are inalienable parts of India," Arindam Bagchi said during the MEA Weekly Media Briefing on Thursday.
