The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has officially rolled out its ranking framework for Flying Training Organisations (FTOs) across India, with the first set of rankings coming into effect today.
Air India has placed an order for 34 trainer aircraft as it prepares to start training cadet pilots at South Asia's largest Flying Training Organisation (FTO) coming up in Amravati, Maharashtra by the second half of 2025, post regulatory approvals.
The audit aims to thoroughly assess the safety standards, operational procedures, and systemic deficiencies within flying training organisations to ensure the highest levels of safety and compliance.
The DGCA-licensed FTO at Amravati's Belora airport will be operational by first quarter of financial year 2026 and will target to graduate 180 commercial pilots every year.
