The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested a man wanted in connection with a murder case that occurred in Narela six months ago. The accused, Parvesh Kumar alias Dhillu, was apprehended on May 16 for allegedly killing a man who had reportedly eve-teased his sister.
Following the launch of 'Shishtachar' anti-eve teasing squads to prevent crimes against women, Delhi Special Commissioner of Police (Training) Chhaya Sharma said that in every district, there will be two anti-eve teasing squads and each team would have 3 to 4 women in it.
According to the circular issued by the Delhi police, each district will have a squad of 15 trained personnel, who apart from responding to such crimes, would also work towards its prevention and deterrence.
The 'anti-eve-teasing squad' will be deployed outside Government Degree College for Women and Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Baramulla. Women citizens can approach this squad for any issue and to report any crime or violence against them.
