Retired Indian Army officer Major General Dhruv C Katoch on Friday said that Pakistan attempted to escalate tensions with India, but the Indian armed forces responded strongly, including by destroying Lahore's air defence system.
Qatal was the nephew of Hafiz Saeed, the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and the mastermind behind the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Saeed is wanted in India for numerous rerror-related cases.
The recent attacks by Baloch insurgents in Pakistan have exposed terrorism within the country and highlighted the 'lack of preparedness' of its military.
"The US-India partnership is not something new. It has been ongoing now for about two decades. And in the last decade, especially during Trump's first tenure, it got strengthened to a very great extent," Dhruv C Katoch said.
