Devotees across India celebrated Shri Krishna Janmashtami with great fervour on Saturday, thronging temples, singing bhajans, and taking part in midnight rituals to mark the birth of Lord Krishna.
Whether it was Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Ayodhya, Haridwar, Mathura, Varanasi, Ajmer, Tirupati, or Guwahati, people flocked to iconic religious spots to celebrate the day.
On the occasion of the Janmashtami festival, devotees flocked to temples across the country to seek Lord Krishna's blessing on his birth anniversary, with political leaders like Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel paying their obeisance.
Devotees thronged the Gauri Shankar Temple in Delhi's Chandni Chowk to offer prayers on the occasion of Shivratri in the holy month of Sawan on Friday morning.
Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, AIADMK chief and Leader of Opposition, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, were among the leaders who greeted people on the festival occasion.
