Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari on Saturday slammed Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, for his "attack on democracy" remarks made abroad, terming them "very wrong" and a grave insult to the nation.
The BJP has jumped into the mounting controversy, raising strong objections against remarks made by Rahul Gandhi, labelling them as "anti-India" and "insulting" to the nation. ABJP leader said that it was Gandhi's nature to tarnish India's image abroad.
On the fifth day in a row, the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha adjourned for the day on Friday within minutes of convening its proceedings as both the treasury and Opposition benches created a ruckus on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's democracy in India remarks in London and Adani issue.
Smriti Irani also said that Rahul Gandhi not only attacked the magnificence of the Indian parliament but also disrespected the institutions like the Supreme Court and Election Commission that are known to every citizen of the country.
Soon after the House assembled for the day and papers were laid on the table, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar started reading, "I have received 11 notices under Rules 267", the treasury benches started demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi, leading to a ruckus.
