Air quality in the Mayur Vihar area improved slightly on Saturday, a day after Delhi received a fresh spell of rainfall. The sudden change in weather and the unexpected brought slight relief in pollution.
A mobile tower in Safdarjung Enclave fell last night as the parts of the National Capital received gusty winds and heavy rainfall on Saturday overnight. There were no casualties or injuries reported in the incident.Delhi received a welcome shower of relief on Sunday from the recent heatwave.

The highest rainfall recorded since 1901 was 119.3mm on May 20, 2021, at SFD Airport. According to IMD, it was associated with the movement of the remnant of the "Tauktae" Cyclone, which crossed the Gujarat coast.
Delhi residents on Thursday morning witnessed traffic congestion due to severe water-logging following heavy rain that lashed parts of the national capital.
Lok Sabha Secretariat on Thursday said that there was minor leakage of water in the Lobby of the new Parliament Building following heavy rains in Delhi as adhesive material used to fix glass domes was slightly displaced and corrective measures were taken immediately
"On reaching the above incident spot, it was found that Tanuja and her child Priyansh, who were going to the weekly Budh Bazaar held in the Ghazipur Police Station area, East Delhi, fell into a waterlogged semi-constructed drain and drowned," said the police.
Sharing information about the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police, North East Joy Tirkey, said, "Two children died after drowning in a deep ditch that was filled with rainwater in the New Usmanpur area today. The incident took place around 5:00 pm in the New Usmanpur area."
