Other regions identified as major hotspots include Haryana, Delhi, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Tamil Nadu.
The Joint Cyber Coordination Teams (JCCTs) have been established in the seven identified cybercrime hotspots across the country-- Mewat, Jamtara, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Visakhapatnam, and Guwahati -- to strengthen inter-state coordination in tackling cybercrime.
According to the Haryana Police official, most of the blocked SIM cards were issued in Andhra Pradesh, followed by West Bengal and Delhi, among others.
