Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that instability in Afghanistan poses serious security risks to CSTO nations. He urged stronger coordination among members to prevent terrorist infiltration and stressed the need for international cooperation to support an inclusive Afghan government,
"The danger of terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking, and illegal arms trade spreading from Afghanistan remains a direct threat to the southern borders of the CSTO's area of responsibility," said Secretary General of the CSTO.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization is an intergovernmental military alliance in Eurasia consisting of six post-Soviet states: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
