"Two CRPF personnel were seriously injured in separate IED explosions occurred on Sunday afternoon during an anti-Maoist operation in Jharkhand's Saranda forest. The injured are from CRPF's CoBRA unit," sources told ANI.
The pressure IED exploded near Sathdhaar-Malevahi in Dantewada. The police said a dog handler sustained critical injuries, while an inspector suffered minor splinter wounds.
"One jawan of Jharkhand Jaguar lost his life in IED blast, while CRPF jawan is undergoing the treatment," Ranchi DIG-cum-Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chandan Kumar Sinha said in a statement.
According to police, the injured personnel have been identified as Sub-Inspector Sunil Kumar Mandal and Head Constable Parth Pratim Dey. Both were airlifted to Ranchi for treatment.
