BJP MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy lauded the passing of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2025, stressing the supremacy of the Constitution. President Murmu's assent to the bill makes it a law.
"But today, I give a guarantee to the country and Bihar that as long as Modi is alive, I will not let the rights of SC/ST/OBC and extremely backward classes be snatched away. For Modi, the Constitution is supreme, and the spirit of Baba Saheb Ambedkar is supreme," PM Modi said.
"Suppose Parliament, by a majority, voted to convert the parliamentary system into a Presidential system. Or repeal the State List in Schedule VII and take away the exclusive legislative powers of the States. Would such amendments be valid?", Chidambaram tweeted.
