Assam State Zoo and Botanical Garden has received 15 new species through the animal exchange programme with Chhatbir Zoo, Chandigarh, regulated by the Central Zoo Authority. This initiative has resulted in the acquisition of 15 new fauna, significantly enriching the zoo's biodiversity.
World Environment Day was celebrated at Chhatbir Zoo on Wednesday and an awareness campaign of mass mobilization was concluded with a plantation drive in which the Field Director with all the zoo officials and visitors planted trees inside zoo campus.
