Odisha Fisheries and Livestock Minister Gokula Nanda Mallik on Sunday stated that raids were conducted in five districts after reports of Cattle Smuggling, leading to several arrests and seizure of property and cash.
According to officials, the encounter took place during a joint operation by Pipraich police of Gorakhpur district and the Kushinagar police team in Mauachapi village.

Border Security Force (BSF) troops of BOP Dholakcheri under South Tripura district apprehended five cattle smugglers and rescued 12 cattle from their possession.

"The vehicle was illegally transporting the cattle. The police team apprehended two persons, Iman Ali (36) and Sofiqul Haque (30), both hailing from Nagaon district. The vehicle has been seized along with 30 cattle heads and other items in the presence of the witnesses," the official said.
