India has made significant progress in expanding its power generation capacity over the last five years, with installed power capacity rising by nearly 36 per cent, largely driven by rapid growth in renewable energy, according to a report released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
Built at a cost of over Rs 350 crore, the project is expected to generate 141 million units of electricity annually and reduce nearly 1.15 lakh tonnes of carbon emissions. The implementing agency will operate and maintain the project for a period of 25 years.
India's data centre industry is set for strong growth over the next few years, with total capacity expected to rise five times to 8GW by 2030, according to a report by Jefferies.
