Two individuals died in separate incidents during a Manjuvirattu event held at Uranganpatti village near Melur in Madurai district on Wednesday, officials said.
A grand Jallikattu competition is being held at Kajamalai in Tiruchirappalli city on Wednesday with 750 bulls and more than 500 bull tamers participating in the traditional sport.
About 750 bulls and 300 bull-tamers are taking part in the event. Organisers said prizes will be given to the winners. A motorcycle will be awarded to the best bull-tamer, and a bureau and other gifts will be given to the owner of the best bull.
