A suspicious bomb shell was discovered near a junk shop in Chandigarh's Kaimbwala area, prompting swift action by police and Army teams. Security forces have secured the site, and efforts are underway to defuse and safely transport the ordnance.
The scrap shop is located at Khanjanpur locality under Kotwali police station limits in the district. The shells were found during searches conducted by police in view of Independence Day and CM Mohan Yadav's visit in the district, the officer added.
A live bomb shell was recovered from a military ground in the Khanna city of Punjab's Ludhiana on Wednesday, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Harpal Singh informed.
