All the elevan convcits in the Bilkis Bano case surrendered on late Sunday night at Godhra sub-jail in Gujarat's Panchmahal district,as per the deadline set up by the Supreme Court, officials said.

Senior Advocate V Chitambaresh, appearing for the three convicts, mentioned the matter before a bench headed by Justice BV Nagarathna, seeking urgent listing of the case, saying the time of surrender is expiring on January 21.
Hailing the Supreme Court verdict, reversing the remission of sentences of the accused in the Bilkis Bano case, BRS leader and MLC K Kavitha on Tuesday said the ruling has sent out the message that women in the country will be "safe, secure and protected".

Welcoming the Supreme Court verdict in the Bilkis Bano case, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday said that Bilkis Bano fought her battle on her own to get justice.
