Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri said, "Due to heavy, continuous rains since early morning on 30.07.2025, Yatra has not been released on the tracks from both the base camps, Baltal and Nunwan/Chandanwari."

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the Baltal base camp near Sonmarg on Sunday for a review meeting with officials and the district administration regarding the ongoing Amarnath Yatra 2025.
The 16th batch of 7,908 devotees departed from Jammu early in the morning today and crossed Udhampur district amid tight security arrangements. The authorities facilitated unhindered movement with increased vigilance to ensure that the pilgrims remain safe.
Amarnath Yatra has been suspended for Thursday from both Pahalgam and Baltal base camps due to incessant rainfall for the past two days, officials said.
"I have come from the Philippines... This is my first time on the yatra. People were scared following the Pahalgam terror attack. But we did not witness anything like that. Here, every arrangement has been made properly. Security has been provided, langar is in place," she said.
The annual pilgrimage, which started on Thursday, is being conducted via the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. The Jammu-Srinagar Highway is a key route for the thousands of pilgrims heading to the holy site.
Pilgrims chanted bhajans and performed Lord Shiva's Aarti as they reached the Holy Amarnath Cave. The first batch of pilgrims had begun their trek towards the Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath from the Baltal base camp this morning. Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje was also a part of this batch
Kashmir Police has issued an advisory for devotees undertaking the Amarnath Yatra, urging them to travel only in designated convoys. The 38-day pilgrimage commenced on Thursday and is taking place in the shadow of the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 people dead.
Speaking to ANI during her visit, she said, "Today, we are all going to have the darshan of Bholenath. It feels wonderful... May God bless us all. The atmosphere here is very pleasant... people are feeling good because development work is happening here too..."
Authorities have set up 17 medical camps at langar sites, established mini hospitals, and deployed ambulances across Ramban district as the 38-day Amarnath pilgrimage commences today, weeks after the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 people dead following religious profiling.
Another batch of devotees is set to depart for the pilgrimage to the Holy cave of Shri Amarnath Baba on Thursday. The devotee departs for the yatra with the chants of 'Har Har Mahadev' and 'Bam Bam Bhole'.
