Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao on Tuesday slammed the BJP MPs for protesting in Bengaluru over the 'Azaan row' and said that sensible Kannadigas will understand the intentions of BJP leaders who want to secure their vote bank by creating unrest in society.
Large number of people took to the streets in Bengaluru on Tuesday following a dispute between a shopkeeper and a group of individuals on Sunday evening over the playing of devotional songs during the Azaan.
Speaking to ANI, Singh said, "I was not present here but my son told me that he was playing devotional songs at that time. They had come to fight with him. The sound was low only. They beat him up. We went to the police station also. We want justice."
Speaking to the media, after meeting the shopkeeper who was attacked by a group of men for playing devotional songs during Azaan, the BJP leader demanded the Bengaluru City Commissioner to investigate the incident in an unbiased and professional manner.
