Condemning the defacement of the Swaminarayan Mandir at Newark, California, with anti-India graffiti, the Indian Consulate in San Francisco on Saturday said the incident has hurt the sentiments of the Indian community.
Suspected pro-Khalistan activists allegedly defaced the Swaminarayan temple in Newark, California, police said, adding that the incident came to light on Friday (local time).
In an interview with ANI Editor Smita Prakash, Jaishankar said, "We have taken this up and we have cautioned these governments that these are very radical, extremist forces at work. They need to respond to it appropriately."
"It is with pain and anguish that I state the Ram Mandir, a Hindu temple in Mississauga has become the latest target of hate crime. In recent times other Hindu temples across Canada have been targets of hate crimes by anti-Hindu and anti-India groups," Aryan said in the parliament as per the
"We strongly condemn the defacing of Ram Mandir in Mississauga with anti-India graffiti. We have requested Canadian authorities to investigate the incident and take prompt action on perpetrators," tweeted the Consulate General of India in Toronto.
Gauri Shankar Mandir is a symbol of Indian heritage and it was defaced with anti-India graffiti. The Consulate General of India, Toronto has raised its concern over the matter with Canadian authorities.
