Two Iranian women journalists have been given preliminary prison sentences for national security charges on cases related to the Mahsa Amini protests, reported Al Jazeera.
The Islamic Republic is facing one of the biggest shows of dissent in recent history following the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish-Iranian woman detained by the morality police allegedly for not wearing her hijab properly, according to media reports.
The US called out Iran to stop sending weapons to Russia to kill Ukrainians as the war between Kyiv and Moscow escalated in the past few weeks and added that deepening ties between Moscow and Tehran are moving beyond weapons amid Mahsa Amini protests.
