A case has been registered by Government Railway Police (GRP) following a fire that broke out in a coach of the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express train at Kannur railway station in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, said, railway officials.
The agency sleuths carried out these searches since this morning and the raids are still underway at Delhi's Shahin Bagh and other locations of suspects.
The NIA carried out searches at the hideouts of suspects in the case which was taken over by the anti-terror agency almost a month ago and it started its probe charging the "highly radicalised" arrested accused Shahrukh Safi.
The statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office said, "I want to appreciate the investigation team for nabbing the suspect in the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express incident in which three people were killed and around 10 injured after setting fire to the passengers."

According to the officials, the man set fire to a passenger allegedly after an argument on board the Alappuzha-Kannur Executive Express train near Elathur in Kozhikode district on Sunday night. The suspect, who is yet to be identified, escaped after passengers pulled the emergency chain.<
