In celebration of Endangered Species Day, observed annually on May 16, Al Ain Zoo is shining a spotlight on its 57-year legacy of wildlife conservation and its pivotal role in safeguarding biodiversity both locally and globally.
This initiative aligns with the "Year of the Community", which promotes social cohesion and community care, while reinforcing the values of cooperation among all society members.
The zoo has curated an engaging and educational experience through its Children's Discovery Garden, fostering curiosity and learning by stimulating various senses in designated areas. Notably, the garden features a water play area with dynamic movement formations.
The zoo is currently home to 88 Humboldt penguins, a species that is considered endangered according to statistics and the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red list.
