The Israeli military said that it has dismissed two officers and reprimanded three others for their roles in an attack in Gaza that killed seven aid workers, Al Jazeera reported. The Israeli military said that the officers had mishandled critical information and violated the army's rules
"The two leaders discussed the situation in Gaza. President Biden emphasized that the strikes on humanitarian workers and the overall humanitarian situation are unacceptable," a readout of President Biden's call with Prime Minister Netanyahu of Israel stated.
US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are set to speak today in their first phone call since an Israeli airstrike killed seven World Central Kitchen aid workers in Gaza, CNN reported.
"I am outraged and heartbroken by the deaths of seven humanitarian workers from World Central Kitchen, including one American, in Gaza yesterday. They were providing food to hungry civilians in the middle of a war. They were brave and selfless. Their deaths are a tragedy," the statement read
"Following the reports of the incident concerning the employees of the WCK organization in the Gaza Strip", said the IDF, it "began an in-depth investigation of the incident by the most senior ranks, in order to understand all the circumstances of the incident."
