he Central Government, through the Ministry of Law and Justice, has officially notified the appointment of three Additional Judges as Permanent Judges of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
Acting Chief Justice Vibhu Bhakru administered the oath to Justices Ajay Digpaul and Harish Vaidyanathan Shankar during a ceremony at the court premises, attended by other judges and lawyers. The Centre had notified the appointment of the two judges on January 6, 2024.
The notification stated that, in exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India, the President of India, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, is pleased to appoint the Additional Judges as Permanent Judges in the High Courts of Allahabad and Andhra Pradesh.
Notification issued in this regard stated that, in the exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint (i) Bibhu Datta Guru and (ii) Amitendra Kishore Prasad, to be Additional Judges of the High
