The Agro Chem Federation of India (ACFI) has urged the government to introduce a PLI scheme and tax holidays to reduce import dependence for technical ingredients and to set up agrochemical manufacturing hubs to boost domestic production.

The government is prioritising infrastructure development through initiatives like the Prime Minister's Gati Shakti program, which aims to create a coordinated and efficient infrastructure ecosystem.

ACFI now expects that some announcement regarding the extension of the PLI Scheme to more crop protection chemical intermediates will be made in the Budget.
