India's digital systems saw a new high in November 2025 as Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) records Aadhaar number holders executed 231 crore authentication transactions, marking an 8.47 per cent rise over the same month last year, according to a Ministry of Electronics & IT
The growth highlights the extensive usage and utility of Aadhaar, as well as the expansion of the digital economy in the country, according to the Union Ministry of Electronics and IT.
Aadhaar number holders carried out over 211 crores authentication transactions, pushing the total number of such transactions since Aadhaar's inception to more than 15,223 crores (152.23 billion), according to a release by the Ministry of Electronics & IT.
Aadhaar continues to drive India's digital transformation, with nearly 225 crore authentication transactions and 43 crore e-KYC transactions carried out in February 2025.
Whether it is Aadhaar-enabled direct fund transfer, Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) for last-mile banking, authentications, or e-KYC for identity verification, Aadhaar has been playing an important role in supporting Digital India vision and enabling ease of living for residents.
