BSNL is entrusted with ambitious projects of the Government to provide coverage to uncovered villages in the country, including rural and underserved areas, such as 4G Saturation Scheme.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi was also present on the occasion. The Prime Minister was felicitated by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati and the Chief Minister.
The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is currently rolling out 1,00,000 fully indigenous 4G towers under the Atmanirbhar Bharat scheme, which includes Core technology by C-DOT (a government entity), RAN (telecom towers) by Tejas Networks and System integration by TCS.
The push by the Narendra Modi-led central government to make the internet safe and accessible for all citizens, especially in the far-fetched regions, is said to be one of the most important tools of development in the northeast region.
These mobile towers were installed to provide communication services in areas where mobile networks could not reach till now. After conducting a survey by the Universal Service Obligation Fund under the direction of the district administration, the towers were installed.
