The Board discussed their recent meeting with the Law Commission regarding UCC. It also discussed aspects of the Mediation Act and the current state of the 123 Waqf properties in Delhi.
The board contended all these properties are either dargahs, mosques or graveyards, which have always remained in its possession and cannot be taken away now on the basis of a report of a two-member committee.
The Delhi High Court Wednesday refused to pass an interim order on the plea of the Delhi Waqf Board. However, the High Court asked the Board to file a separate petition to challenge central government's decision to delist the 123 Waqf properties.
