Trump slams North Korea, Iran, Venezuela in his debut UNGA speech

New York [U.S.A.], September 19 (ANI): The United States President Donald Trump in his first address to the United Nations General Assembly lambasted North Korea, Iran and Venezuela and warned them of severe response to their baleful actions.

Addressing world leaders at UNGA in New York on Tuesday, Trump said, "It is a massive source of embarrassment for the United Nations that some governments with egregious human rights records sit on the UN Human Rights Council."

Trump attacked North Korea and termed its supreme leader Kim Jong-un as "a rocket man, who is on a suicide mission".

He further said, "It is time for North Korea to realise that de-nuclearisation is its only acceptable future."

Trump asserted that North Korea's reckless pursuit of nuclear weapons threatens entire world with immense loss of human life.

"No nation on earth has an interest in seeing this band of criminals armed with nuclear weapons and missiles. The United States had has great strength and patience, but it is forced to defend itself or its allies we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea," Trump said.

Trump said, "Authoritarian powers seek to collapse the values systems and alliances that prevented conflict and tilted the world toward freedom since World War II. To put it simply we meet at a time of both immense promise and great peril."

"It is entirely up to us whether we lift the world up to new heights or let it fall into a valley of disrepair. Major portions of the world are in conflict, and some, in fact, are going to hell," he added.

While his speech was largely focused on North Korea, Trump also blasted Venezuela and Iran.

He said, "The Venezuelan people are starving and their country is collapsing."

He called that situation "completely unacceptable."

"The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented but that socialism has been faithfully implemented," Trump added.

He also called for the establishment of "full democracy and political freedoms" in Venezuela.

Trump called Iran a "murderous regime" and said that the nuclear deal negotiated by his predecessor with the country is an "embarrassment".

"The Iran deal was one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the US has ever entered into," Trump said.

"Frankly, that deal is an embarrassment to the United States, and I don't think you've heard the last of it. Believe me," he added. (ANI)
