Washington D.C. [U.S.A], May 18 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump has donated a quarter of his salary to country's military veterans.
As reported by the CNN, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said on Thursday that President Trump has donated a quarter's worth of his salary to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Trump had committed to donating his annual salary of $4, 00,000 to worthy causes.
He has previously donated money to the Department of Transportation, the National Park Service, the Department of Education, and the Department of Health and Human Services.
As per certain media reports, Veteran Affairs secretary Robert Wilkie said at a press briefing that the donated amount would go toward caregiver support programs, including mental health, peer support, research, education, training and financial aid.
Earlier in March, Trump had fired Veteran affairs Secretary David Shulkin after he was said to be embroiled in a controversy involving taking his wife on a business trip. (ANI)
