Washington DC [USA], May 18 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump on Thursday (local time) congratulated the newly-elected director of Central Intelligence Agency Gina Haspel who is the first woman ever to hold this post.
President Trump took to his Twitter account to express his happiness for the same as he added a picture depicting Haspel.
"Congratulations to our new CIA Director, Gina Haspel!", Trump tweeted.

Earlier on Wednesday, Haspel, former acting director of Central Intelligence Agency, passed a crucial vote nominating her to be the first female director of the organisation.
As per the reports, the CIA veteran was supported by five Democratic senators and she is further expected to pass a forthcoming full Senate vote.
Trump had always supported Haspel to be the choice for the directorial post.
He had earlier said that Haspel is "one step closer to lead brave men and women at the CIA".
Haspel, 61, has been said to be a controversial pick for the post due to her involvement in the 26/11 attacks investigation.
She had also disavowed the techniques previously used by the CIA such as waterboarding. (ANI)
