Pentagon uncertain over Trump military parade location

Washington DC [United States], Feb 9 (ANI): The Pentagon has expressed uncertainty if United States President Donald Trump's vision of a large-scale military parade will be held in Washington DC or not.

According to the Hill, when questioned about what cities are being considered for the parade's location, Defense Department chief spokeswoman Dana White said, "We don't know that it will be in Washington."

"There are options and we will explore those and the president will ultimately decide," she added that the US Army was taking the lead in creating options for the event.

The White House has asked the Pentagon to explore a celebration of "America's great service members," after the Republican president marveled at the Bastille Day military parade he attended in Paris last year.

"The president often looks for opportunities to honor and appreciate our service members. ... When we have those options we will provide that to the White House and the president will decide," White said.

Defence Department chief spokeswoman underscored that the "bottom line is we want to honor our service members. That is the intent."

When asked who would pay for the cost of the parade, White said the Pentagon was still in the planning phase.

According to the reports, polls show that America's troops continue to be stronger supporters of this president than the public at large. U.S. military veterans are much more pro-Trump than almost any other group, with data showing they chose him over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election by a large 60 percent-to-34 percent margin.

However, the former Navy SEAL who claims to have killed terror mastermind Osama bin Laden is calling President Donald Trump's idea for a military parade in Washington "third world bulls---."

"A military parade is third world bullshit. We prepare. We deter. We fight. Stop this conversation," Robert J. O'Neill tweeted. (ANI)
