Joe Biden not ruling out 2020 Presidential run

New York [USA], Oct 26 (ANI): Former vice president of United States Joe Biden has hinted he will not rule out running for President in 2020.

According to CNN, Biden told a leading magazine that he has not made a decision on it yet, but is not against the idea either.

"I haven't decided to run. But I've decided I'm not going to decide not to run. We'll see what happens," Biden said in the interview, adding that he would have run for President in 2016 had his late son Beau not fallen ill.

"I had planned on running, and I wasn't running against Hillary or Bernie or anybody else. Honest to God, I thought that I was the best suited for the moment to be President," Biden said.

He added that the decision would be hard on his family, "It's hard, you don't run by yourself. Your family is totally implicated. They become news; they become fodder."

At the interview, he also expressed disapproval over US President Donald Trump's administration, remarking that the latter is "self-referential and uninformed," as well as a threat to the very foundations of the country.

"This sounds corny," he said, "but everything the founders did was to erect institutions that made it more difficult to abuse power. That's why they have three different branches of government. And what really worries me about this administration is the frontal attack on those institutions that, if they were lost, makes the abuse of power so much more available."

Biden was the U.S. vice president from 2009 to 2017. (ANI)
