Alabama [USA], Nov 27 (ANI): The Hoover Police Department has released a report stating that Emantic Bradford Jr, who was mistakenly shot dead inside an Alabama mall, had "brandished" a gun.
"Earlier, we stated that Mr. Bradford brandished a gun. To clarify, the word 'brandish' was used because Mr. Bradford had a gun in his hand as police officers responded to the active shooter situation between mall patrons," The Hoover Police Department posted on Facebook.
The family had earlier asked the police to release all the videos of the incident and expressed dismay at the fact that the police did not contact the family regarding the post-investigation report.
The shooting took place on November 22 on Thanksgiving Day at Alabama Mall. A Hoover Police officer shot Bradford dead and informed the public that they had secured the entire mall.
Police had also allegedly injured two people, including a girl, who was later taken to a hospital for treatment.
At first, police described the incident as a fight between a teenager and Bradford that turned into the gunfire during which a girl standing nearby was also shot at. Later, the police clarified that they had accidentally shot Bradford. (ANI)
