4.9-magnitude earthquake strikes Alaska

The death toll from the devastating flash floods in Nepal has climbed to 1,410m while 6,145 people remain missing, according to the latest update issued by Nepal’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), as rescue, relief and recovery operations continue across the affected districts.

Zelenskyy called the timing of the Russian assault "symbolic," emphasising that economic pressure remains essential to forcing Moscow to negotiate as the war enters its fifth year. Direct strikes caused significant disruption to energy infrastructure in the Sumy and Odesa regions. Missiles and drones damaged residential buildings and triggered widespread fires across communities in Kyiv and Odesa. Ukrainian officials reported emergency impacts and damage across a total of eight regions.

Ahead of the Nepal Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle's arrival in Delhi on Thursday, the Nepal Finance Ministry presented the purpose of the 3-day visit, which includes a bilateral meeting with the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. 

"We have seen reports in this regard. Our position on this matter is clear and consistent. There is no boundary between Pakistan and China. We reject the so-called Joint Commission, which is without any legal basis," Jaiswal said in response to media queries. 

Nepal on Wednesday recovered ten bodies from 2 hydropower projects while it halts search in 10 other hydel projects which have been impacted by the disaster.
