Several killed in blast in Somali capital

Two persons were murdered in Bogura and Cox's Bazar, on March 6 and March 7, while crude bombs were thrown at a Hindu temple in Cumilla city during a puja on March 8, triggering significant panic, as per rights group the Bangladesh Jatio Hindu Mohajote (Bangladesh National Grand Alliance).

A blast near Miryan Police Station in Pakistan's Bannu district killed two people, including a child, and injured 17 others, Dawn reported. Civilians were affected while police remained safe. Rescue teams shifted victims to hospitals, and authorities launched an investigation amid rising militant violence in the region.

The 37th Analytical and Support Sanctions Monitoring Team report acknowledges India's inputs on cross-border terrorism. The UN report linked Jaish-e-Mohammed to the Red Fort attack, claiming 15 lives, and noted the group's women-only wing, Jamaat ul-Muminat, aims to support terrorist attacks. India had flagged concerns about Jaish-e-Mohammed's activities.

The explosion occurred at the Makhati Gurucharan High School polling station in Mollakandi Union of Sadar upazila, drawing rapid response from law enforcement but no confirmed reports of casualties.

PTI leader Asad Qaiser confirmed nationwide protests today marking the 2024 election anniversary, alongside a day of mourning after Islamabad's suicide bombing. The party accused authorities of rigging and security lapses, vowing continued demonstrations to restore democracy and uphold the rule of law.

The official statement said," The bombing at an Islamabad mosque earlier today is condemnable and India condoles the loss of life it has caused. It is unfortunate that, instead of seriously addressing the problems plaguing its social fabric, Pakistan should choose to delude itself by blaming others for its home-grown ills. India rejects any and every such allegation, which is as baseless as it is pointless."

The injured are being shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), as per the report as further details are awaited.

An explosion struck a residential building in the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas, resulting in the death of a minor girl and caused damage of to an eight-storey structure and homes nearby, Fars News Agency reported on Saturday.
