Earthquake of magnitude 6.2 strikes Japan's Nagasaki

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan Motegi Toshimitsu on Wednesday welcomed the decision made by the International Energy Agency (IEA) to implement a collective release totaling 400 million barrels of oil by the member countries, a statement by Japan's Foreign Minister said.

India has extended humanitarian assistance to Madagascar following widespread devastation caused by tropical cyclones Fytia and Gezani earlier this year, reaffirming its support for the island nation during the ongoing relief efforts.

Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal said that India sent 500 MT of rice as immediate food assistance, 10 MT of essential relief supplies and other support.

As per the NCS, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 165km.

The seventh India-Japan military exercise, Dharma Guardian 2026, concluded in Chaubattia, Uttarakhand, on March 8. Focusing on counter-terrorism and urban warfare, the joint training enhanced interoperability and strategic ties. The exercise culminated in a successful 48-hour validation phase, reaffirming both nations' commitment to regional security and defence cooperation.
