Prince Harry to know about impact of climate change on Caribbean's environment
London [UK], Nov.28 (ANI): It will be a royal day on Grenada beach today as Prince Harry will be on a visit to learn about the impacts of climate change is having on the Caribbean's environment. On one of the island state's most beautiful beaches, Harry will be told about the steps organisations and institutions are taking to repair and protect the country's precious eco-system, reports the Daily Mail. The Prince will be notified of the rebuilding of the coral reefs and planting new ones by the gardeners from the Coral Restoration Project and how the nation is restoring its mangrove habitats. On a related note, mangrove habitation is an important part of the country's eco-system, which was extensively damaged by 2004 Hurricane Ivan. Reportedly, the 32-year-old Royal was due to travel to Grenada on Royal Fleet Auxiliary Wave Knight, a tanker on anti-narcotics and disaster relief duties in the region, but it developed a technical problem on Sunday which meant it could not leave its St Vincent mooring on schedule. According to a Kensington Palace spokesman, "Contingency plans are in place and there is no current expectation that the second half of the tour will be impacted by the technical problem with Wave Knight. We are looking forward to meeting the people of Grenada tomorrow.'' (ANI)
