Police hunt for Tunisian man in Berlin truck attack case
London [United Kingdom], Dec. 21 (ANI): Police have launched a manhunt for a Tunisian man for his alleged involvement in the truck attack on a Christmas market that killed 12 people in Berlin on Monday night. An identity document in the name of Anis Amri, born in Tataouine in 1992, was reportedly found by police under the driver's seat of a vehicle and was believed to use different names. Police are checking for the suspect in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia, where he was previously been registered at a refugee shelter, reports the Guardian. Confirming that a new suspect was being sought, German interior minister, Thomas de Maiziere said, "It is important that we find this suspect, and that's why it is important to carry out an undercover search." He added that the data and the all the evidence are being gathered. The minister also asked media to stop speculating about the person saying that they will let the media know when further information and further facts are with them. The authorities had claimed to receive more than 500 leads which could help them identify the suspect. German authorities had released a 23-year-old Pakistani due to lack of evidence after arresting him earlier on suspicion of driving a lorry into a Berlin Christmas market. (ANI)
