London [UK], Feb. 11 (ANI): At least six people were killed and more than 120 others were injured as a powerful earthquake rocked Philippines. According to a report in the Telegraph, the late Friday quake had a magnitude of 6.5 and was centered about 14 kilometres northwest of the provincial capital of Surigao at a relatively shallow depth of 11 kilometres . Nearly 100 aftershocks have been felt, officials said, adding that schools were being reopened as evacuation centers for residents wary of returning to their damaged homes. Meanwhile, New Zealand based Stuff reported that at least 15 people werekilled in the southern Philippines and 90 others were injured as buildings and an airport suffered damages. The death toll is expected to rise. (ANI)
